Wayfinding
Thursday March 20th
The Inner Work of Age, Shifting from Role to Soul
Dear Wayfinders,
Our March Wayfinding will take place THIS Thursday morning 9:45-11:15am March 20th (rather than our Wednesday in-person time as usual) and Thursday afternoon by ZOOM from 4-5pm, as usual. The theme for Wayfinding this month is an introduction to the book, “The Inner Work of Age, Shifting from Role to Soul,” by Connie Zweig and the concept of Age as our Curriculum and finding the treasures to late life as well as the obstacles to finding the treasures.
We will meet Thursday on the morning of the Spring Equinox, so we will celebrate this first day of Spring together with our meditations and prayers. Here is the reading we will be working with, but it is not a requirement for your participation, just a way to go deeper with the theme and a way for those who aren’t able to join this month, to follow along with our Wayfinding work.
The reason for our shift of date this month is that I will be presenting a check on behalf of ORUCC to the Great Lakes Intertribal Repatriation Committee at their quarterly meeting tomorrow along with Jill Westberg and Rev. Kerri Parker, to honor the Indigenous People of Wisconsin with our gift of money from our January Compassion Offering (and delicious baked goods from Bloom Bakery!). As per our Land Acknowledgment Statement, we seek to live into our commitments made, “In light of these injustices, we as a congregation commit to learning from, listening to, and building relationships with Ho-Chunk peoples, responding faithfully to their priorities with our faith by contributing money, time, and energy to the work and needs of Indigenous Peoples.” Thank you so much for your flexibility this month.
Many blessings,
Pastor Julia
