Music

We would love to have you join us in making music! Here are our music groups:

Adult Choir

Our Adult Choir, wonderfully directed by the Bruce Gladstone and accompanied by Vicki Nonn, rehearses Wednesday evenings and performs the first and third Sundays of every month. The Adult Choir performs classical and contemporary music and really just loves to sing. There is a beautiful statement attributed to St. Augustine that says: “The one who sings prays twice.”  Contact Bruce ([email protected]) or Vicki ([email protected]) if you’d like to explore joining.

Handbell Choir

Our Handbell Choir, directed by the warm and loving Bethany Shultz, rehearses Monday nights and performs in worship the second Sunday of each month. The bell choir is creative and uplifting and you are welcome to join if you are wanting to make a joyful noise and try something new. Reach out to Bethany ([email protected])

Rock band for teens

TruFunction is our truly awesome youth rock band directed by Rob Martens. This group of teens supports one another through all things and has a blast doing it. We are in awe of their confidence and musical ability. They usually perform the 4th Sunday of each month. Reach out to Rob Martens to learn more at [email protected].

Music Connections for children

Our youngest children start their morning in song with Julie Mazer at 9 a.m. before their Sunday School class. Singing, finger plays, movement, and small instruments are explored, often alongside parents. The relationships made at 9 a.m. further develop into “Music Connections” for 2nd graders and older. This is a time for our children to explore creativity, spirituality and big life themes through music. Using drums, xylophones, body percussion and so much more, they are encouraged to follow their own curiosities as their musical talents blossom.

September through May, Music Connections meets every Sunday from 10:15 – 11:00 after the children’s message during worship. Throughout the year, our children have opportunities not only to share their music, but to lead the congregation in song, rhythm and movement. Julie Mazer also leads early childhood music classes at the church, and is available for solo piano lessons; reach out to her to learn more at [email protected].

Solo musicians

We love having solo musicians from our congregation and from the wider community lead us in special music during worship. In our services, we have enjoyed jazz piano, keyboard and song, a cappella singing, guitar, flute, and so much more. Have something you want to share? We would love to hear from you. Reach out to Vicki Nonn ([email protected]).
