As discussed last Sunday, Racial Reckoning is a complicated process. This week we will visit two more chapters from THE QUAKING OF AMERICA, BY RESMAA MENAKEM. The first addresses the essentials and history of White Body Supremacy and the second will deal with 5 anchors or practices that may help us in the process of addressing how to deal with our bodies as we experience forms of this reckoning.

OUR DISCUSSION

1. Discussion about the history of racism that brought us to this place.

2. What unwritten promises did white Americans often receive?

3. Is the base of the problem hatred?

4. How is it that all these human atrocities seem so hidden and ignored?

5. How does this white supremacy get passed on?

6. The author states that the healing for this begins in the body. How?

7. Body pigmentation and body identity is complicated and confusing.

8. What are the “5 anchors” and how can they help?
