Affirmation 5:
Christian love of neighbors includes engaging people authentically, as Jesus did, treating all as creations made in God’s very image, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental ability, nationality, or economic class.
Each of these groups experience bias or discrimination in a unique way:
• Race
• Gender
• Sexual orientation
• Age
• Physical ability
• Mental ability
• Nationality
• Economic class
Which groups has the church explicitly excluded or treated as inferior or sinful? Which have been discriminated against or excluded on other grounds? What have been your experiences or challenges?
