This Sunday in the church calendar is Epiphany. The Feast of the Epiphany commemorates the manifestation of Christ to the Magi who came to Jerusalem asking “Where is the newborn King of the Jews? For we observed his star at its rising.”
The earliest celebrations of this feast recalled not only the manifestation to the Magi but Christ’s Birth, his Baptism by John in the Jordan River, and his first Miracle at Cana where water was changed into wine. We’ll explore Gospel stories of those events.
