Children & Youth programming for September 17th
Nursery opens at 8:30am! Jade and Marie are ready to play with your little one!
Sunday School starts at 9am. Children in K-2 are invited to sing with Julie in the William Johnson room at 9:00-9:15. After the music, their classroom “guides” (Jill and Josie) will lead the children in a story about when Baby Jesus was presented to God using wooden props.
The 3-5 grade classroom will begin their journey through the New Testament with the “Learning to Use My Bible” Curriculum. (January-May 2023 we explored the Old Testament). This week, the children will learn to identify different sections of the Bible, practice finding different bible verses, learn American Sign Language for a bible verse, and even make a “scroll.” We’ll use the Bibles we have on hand in the classroom for this study. Certainly, if your child has a Bible that they would like to bring to church, they are welcome to do so! Diane and Jadyn will guide the children in their learning.
Middle School & High School: our Newsletter Group will meet at 9:00 in the Day room. Susan Watson is leading this along with youth lead Rex Eggerling-Boeck. We’re excited to expand on this opportunity that began last spring. Anyone is welcome to check it out! Look for more detailed information in another email from Susan at the end of this week.
For those who aren’t participating in the newsletter, we’ll have our first Breakfast Club Youth Group at 9:00 in the Frank room. (Despite the name, we’ll have snacks but not a full breakfast) This is a more informal opportunity to have fellowship time together, and I’ll be looking for input from the youth who come this Sunday about how they might want to see this time together develop. Kristin Muckian and Pastor Kate will be leading this time together this week.
Have you updated your child’s info? If not, please complete the following Google Form. FORM This is especially important so I know if your child has any dietary restrictions or food allergies.
This Sunday, the children are invited to stay in our outdoor worship for the blessing of the animals. Well behaved and socialized pets, photos of your pet, and/or a stuffed animal in lieu of your pet are invited to join us outdoors, as well! We will resume Music Connections next week, September 24, with a xylophone exploration.
