The Beautiful City of Duluth
By Andrew K Nithate
Duluth Minnesota is a beautiful city right by Lake Superior. It has some nice shops and places to stay. There’s also two state parks we went to about an hour away. One of them has nice waterfalls. One of the best things about Duluth is Lake Superior, where you can swim (if you can handle the cold). There’s also a park in Duluth with a nice watchtower with a view of the whole city!
Lake Superior is an amazing place to swim. It’s really fun to hang out with your friends/family! Of course we swam in there, almost everyone went in! I don’t really know who went in the most. There were three people who went in the most and of course I was one of them. I highly recommend swimming there.
In downtown Duluth you can find all kinds of shops, there’s a bunch of restaurants that serve really great food. There is also an antique shop that’s pretty cool, and a bakery that has interesting baked goods you may have never heard of before but tastes really good. There’s also a few areas around downtown where it’s just a nice green area. Occasionally a big boat will pass and they will lift the bridge up. Down by the lake there is a nice rock area where you can just hang out and enjoy the lake. If you want to swim it’s a nice area to enter the water.
There is a YMCA in the town if you want to swim, play racket ball or basketball, and shower. Right next to the YMCA there are a bunch of shops around. Like all places in Duluth there is access to the water if you want to go swimming in the lake. Around there is a nice green field and a rocky beach. Believe me, you can stay down in that area for the entire day.
If you want great scenery you don’t have to look far, a lot of places have great views of the lake. You can look out into the great lake almost anywhere! There’s also amazing areas that have trees and rocks and just a beautiful landscape. It’s a pretty small town so you can be by the lake while being close to somewhere you can eat. Sleeping isn’t that much of a problem, you’ll probably find one really soon after entering Duluth!
The place we stayed at was a church in the middle of town. It was a nice church with a great area around. There was a shop right by there with all the stuff we needed for dinners and breakfasts. We would leave there every day to go to our sites for the day. Of course we packed lunches before we left! Now that’s the end of my side of the trip, thank you for reading and have a good day!
